Is just wrong these days. So as many of you have heard, a man was killed at a Walmart in New York after a crowd broke down the doors and stampeded over him. This was 5 minuets before they were about to open the doors for shoppers. This man was walked over and the people who were waiting to get in the store still pushed people aside that were doing CPR on this man to get into the store to get merchandise. Whats wrong with society these days where a dying man is the lease of their concerns over getting something at a cheaper price? Is anything really worth all that trouble? This man was 34 years old and was hired on as a temporary seasonal employee. He died making minimum wage at a store where people could care less by walking over his dying body to get the things on their list. Walmart says their hearts go out to his family but do they really? I think if the company cared more about their employees they would have been better organized and hired more security to keep a rowdy crowd like that under control. I almost feel like there shouldn’t be a black friday with great sale prices because of events like this. It brings out the worst in people. The crowd gets a certain mentality. Its like a mob out there fighting to get inside and be the first to get whatever it is they want. Is your life really worth it?

Is CRAZINESS!! I started my morning at 3 am and got ready to be at work by 4:45. As I pull into the parking lot my first thought was like OMG!!! Look at allll the cars! So I park and look up as I’m walking in the freezing weather and see the line is wrapped around the big building. This is my 5th year doing this and boy have I never been so scared for my life. I clocked in and headed to the front and we are waiting for them to open the doors at 5 am. So I get my register all prepared for the craziness and us cashiers stand at the end to wait and watch the stampede. Since the economy has been bad we weren’t expecting this many people but man were we wrong. Very wrong. People started fighting outside the doors before we even opened them and that delayed the start of things. So finally they open the door and they have security at the door and a flood of people start coming in. Running as fast as they can with their carts. Pure craziness. I don’t think I would ever in my worst nightmare do the shopping that early in the morning. I get claustrophobic so all the people would make me want to pass out. Even at my register I felt like that. My first break I was trying to make my way to the back through the crazy crowd and then on my way back to the front after my break there was still soooo many people and I was at my register right after that and I started getting really hot feeling like I was going to faint. I looked at the end of my register and there is a sea of people and we had every register open except for the broken one. I am so happy to be home right now, I am going to go relax and read a good book.

So today is the day that millions of slaughtered turkeys are consumed. The whole purpose of this holiday is giving thanks. The Indians and the Pilgrims got together and gave thanks for the help. Blah blah blah. Anyway, so this holiday like many other holidays is now about things non related to what the original meaning was about. Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving and this is the most busiest shopping day of the year. I always have to work this day and it sucks. Next year thank god I won’t be doing this anymore. But for now I am and I have to be up for work at 3 am! So yeah my life is crazy busy around this time but yet I still find time to write. So here I sit writing about Thanksgiving and all the idiots that I meet in my line at work. Today I had to work 6 to 2 and my god were we busy!! Whats up with all these last minute shoppers???? They were crazy! Some were still buying turkeys!! Shouldn’t that have been done like a week ago or so? Well anyway I’m exhausted from slaving away to last minute shoppers with a cart full of crap. But on top of it all the worst and I mean WORST thing they can ever do is give me their sympathy. I’m like oh please save the crap for someone who cares. Don’t pity me! The only reason I am here working is because of people like YOU!!! If people would avoid the store on holidays there wouldn’t be a need for it to be open! Right?? So GO HOME! and Spend time with your family! The place where you should be instead of at the freakin store! Oh and another thing is people who complain or cause trouble on holidays. That just makes your day real bad because its like look I’m here when I don’t want to be and your gunna be a jerk to me. Sooo ignorant. Please go die! Now! Well anyway thats it for now. HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Always remember the true meaning behind that turkey you are eating.

So there is a video of Jordan Van der sloot confessing to Greta Van Susteren, that he sold Natalie to a human trafficker. His confession is disturbing. The way he talks its like he has no remorse for anything, it almost looks like he has a smirk on his face. At first I believed this confession, but after they had a segment about how he is a pathological liar and that he was caught on tape admitting to getting Thailand girls and telling them they will be models in Holland and selling them to human traffickers. Lie or not this kid is sick, and he needs to be sold to a human trafficker himself. I honestly believe that this Natalie girl died of some kind of date rape drug and they threw her body into the ocean. This happened in 2005 but this case is still a topic of conversation and we are all wanting to know what happened to Natalie. I hope that women who plan on foreign travel remember this girl when they are abroad. Guys like Jordan target girls like Natalie. She was just looking to have fun and it was at the cost of her life. So if you plan on traveling, do not go off with some random guy you don’t know, may sound like fun or a good idea, he may present himself in such a manner that feels safe to you, but you need to think before you do certain things. Natalie should have stayed with her friends. Never trust a drink a man pours for you, you don’t know what he’s put in it before he handed it to you. 

Seems like everyone is on a diet these days. I’m always selling diet pills or hearing about friends who are trying a new pill. It’s like seriously now, its just what you eat. Restrict your calories and workout and you will be fine. There is no need to waste money on diet pills, if you eat more then you burn then guess what? You will gain weight. People on diet pills like to brag saying things like, “Omg I hardly ate today!!” First off, thats the quickest way to slow your metabolism and your body will think it’s being starved and hold on to all the fat you have instead of you losing weight. You need healthy food to get energy, and energy to burn fuel. Makes sense right? So stop wasting your money on diet pills cause they aren’t healthy and they do NOT work. It’s all in your head. Drink lots of water, eat 5 servings of fruit and vegetables a day, or more if you please, and eat sensible. You are what you eat, so remember that next time you go through the drive through, fast, cheap, and easy. hahaha Oh and fried and greasy. Ew.

One thing I can’t stand is ghetto people. Doesn’t matter what color you are its how you act. At my work I tend to meet tons of ghetto people. For heavens sake you are shopping at a discounted store, how cheap do you expect things to get? You can’t get everything in life for free you know! Everyday that I have to work I dread it because I just can’t deal with it anymore. One thing I have learned in my almost 5 years of employment at this “wonderful” store is patience. To be threatened at work, cussed out, called every name in the book you could possibly imagine. Instead of snapping back, I walk away. Back in the day I used to get all crazy and get down to their level. Waving my hand in the air like, “Oh no you didn’t!!” One time a few years ago this lady in my line was trying to steal and I caught her, and she started getting smart with me so I started getting smart back. I mean who do you think you are? So this lady got in my face, and asked me, “What time do you get off work JAMIE?” I told her what time I got off and she was like, “I’m going to meet you in the parking lot!!! I’m gunna beat your ass right here!!” I was like, BRING IT ::with the hand snapping in the air back and forth:: ::head shaking like it’s a ball being thrown between two hands catching it:: Well moral of this story is, your life is more important than some ghetto job where you come across tons of people like this. As you know I didn’t get beat up that night and I lived another day to tell this story.

Have you ever wondered why you are getting things for so cheap at the discount store? Not just because they buy in bulk, but cheap labor! The employees that work there that you treat like crap!! And the hidden employees that are overseas in the sweat shop making that shirt you just bought for a dollar! People are so ignorant to this type of stuff. Really though, all we are concerned about is saying a buck here and there. It’s like we need to stop and take a look outside of our environment. Saturday I saw this documentary called, Dying to Tell the Story. This was about photojournalists in a war zone. I watched this video just for a class but like two minutes into it I was so involved. The people that live in these parts of the country are starving! Then here we are in America taking advantage of people worse off than us. We eat out at fast food joints almost everyday if not everyday. I wish America could wake up and realize how great we have it. Instead of complaining about petty things, we need to stop and take a look at all the good we have. 

It’s no wonder people don’t block their profiles on myspace more. Lately I have been searching for a roommate due to an upcoming move I am trying to avoid. I first started my search on roommates.com. Then I went to Craigslist.org, and found lots of people I could possibly room with, but….. The stalker that I am came into play. I searched these possible future roommates on myspace and found a bunch of freaks I wouldn’t want to live with. The first guy was not sure about his sexual orientation, by the way I have no problem with people who are gay or lesbian. But this guy, had lots of pictures of him in his bright pink speedos. This is something I just can’t do. If you ever look for a roommate on Craigslist or any other search engine please make sure you myspace them. You never know what you will get, and these days people are all about their myspace page and perfecting it to represent themselves accurately. Another thing I like to do on myspace is look up crushes, ex boyfriends, enemies, you name it, and see what they are up to these days. With the crushes, well one in particular, I would like to send him a little note because I am shy and can’t possibly talk to him in person. The current crush…some English major guy that helped me with my paper, I have no idea what his name is, I have only seen him twice on campus, both times I looked like crap but he smiled. Anyway, he doesn’t  have a myspace. NOW WHO DOESN’T HAVE A MYSPACE!!!!??? Come on now Myspace… A place for Stalkers!!! Damn you mystery guy!!

First of let me just start off and say how excited I am to be writing for this website. I started doing this through word of mouth. So thank you to Michele!! She noticed I like to write a lot and that I always have something to say about current events and my life. So make sure you stop by daily!!!! About me, I am a 25 year old female that is working on her bachelors degree in Sociology. I am almost done with school and once I am done and have more time to write things other than research papers I would like to work on my first book. As far as my blog goes it will be full of rants and raves, funny stories about life, politics, current events, and lots of other fun subjects. I’m also a vegetarian so I’ll be including reciepes and advice for aspiring vegetarians. I refuse to label this blog as a one subject matter because I feel that if I do that it will get boring and will be the same thing over and over. So I look forward to comments and opinions of my readers.
